Stallions have stood at Airlie since the late 1950's. The policy has always been to offer breeders high class sires for their mares, in the hope that together they would breed winning racehorses.

Although on a lesser scale nowadays, the principles for choosing stallions remain largely unchanged.

Former stallions include Vienna, Atan, Sea Hawk, Habitat, Nonoalco, Ballad Rock and Ela Mana Mou, who although retired in 2001, is still resident.
